Tucked into the rolling Swiss countryside, Huttwil feels quietly special from the moment you arrive. Surrounded by soft green hills and traditional timber buildings, it is a place where craftsmanship still takes centre stage, making it the perfect setting for Rosy and Dougie’s first stop.

Their visit brought them to Speycher Handwerk, one of our wonderful stockists
and a true celebration of artisanal skill. The shop itself is a warm and inviting space, filled
floor to ceiling with carefully curated textiles, yarns, and handcrafted pieces.
Inside, colour leads the way. Shelves are lined with beautifully arranged yarns in every shade imaginable, creating a striking contrast against the natural wood interiors. Every corner tells a story, from vibrant skeins of wool to neatly stacked knitwear in rich, earthy tones.
There is a real sense of care in how everything is displayed, each piece given room to be appreciated. It is the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, moving from one texture to the next.
Our knitwear sits comfortably among this collection, right at home within a space that values heritage, quality, and thoughtful design. Seeing ERIBÉ pieces woven
into such an environment is always a joy, especially somewhere that shares our appreciation for traditional techniques and enduring style.

Beyond the shop, there is a deeper story behind the craftsmanship. Rosy and
Dougie were given a glimpse behind the scenes, watching as traditional wool
blankets are made with care and precision. From raw fibre through to the finished
piece, the process is slow, considered, and rooted in generations of knowledge. It
is a reminder that true quality cannot be rushed.
Stepping back outside, the connection between craft and
countryside become seven clearer. Set against open fields and
fresh mountain air, Dougie also made a few unexpected
friends along the way.

Nearby, a cluster of traditional yurts offered a quieter moment within the journey.
Their circular shapes and colourful interiors brought a sense of warmth and simplicity, blending naturally into the surrounding landscape.
Thoughtfully crafted and full of character, they reflected the same appreciation for heritage, comfort, and slow living that runs through every part of the experience.
Moments like these are what make each journey so memorable, connecting craft,
landscape, and a few unexpected encounters along the way.
If you ever find yourself in Huttwil, Speycher Handwerk is a place worth lingering in. It is
not just about what you see on the shelves, but the stories, skills, and quiet attention to
detail behind it all.
